This week's economic calendar has several news releases from Europe, and a couple of news releases from the US and Asia. The US, European, and Asian news releases for this week are as follows (all times are Greenwich Mean Time) :

US

• Monday : Economic Indicators at 2:00 PM
• Friday : Durable Goods Orders at 12:30 PM, and New Home Sales at 2:00 PM

Europe

• Monday : Switzerland Producer and Import Prices at 7:15 AM, and UK Money Supply and Public Sector Borrowing at 8:30 AM
• Tuesday : EU Trade Balance and Germany Economic Sentiment at 9:00 AM
• Wednesday : EU Industrial Orders at 9:00 AM
• Thursday : Germany Gross Domestic Product at 6:00 AM, and Switzerland Trade Balance at 7:15 AM
• Friday : EU PMI Services and Manufacturing at 8:00 AM, and UK Gross Domestic Product at 8:30 AM

Asia

• Tuesday : Japan Trade Balance at 11:50 PM
• Thursday : Japan BOJ Interest Rates at 3:00 AM, and NZ Trade Balance at 10:45 PM

Day traders need to know when news is going to be released, because many markets react to news releases in erratic ways (such as very quick, large moves, in both directions).
