Economic Calendar with Volatility

This week's news is spread quite evenly across all three regions (US, European, and Asian), but most of the high volatility news is going to come from the US, so the US markets should be most affected by the news releases. The US, European, and Asian news releases for this week are as follows (all times are Greenwich Mean Time, which is 1 hour behind Central European Time, and 5 hours ahead of US Eastern Time) :

US

  • Monday : New Home Sales at 3:00 PM
  • Tuesday : Durable Goods Orders at 1:30 PM, HPI at 2:00 PM, and Consumer Confidence at 3:00 PM
  • Wednesday : Non Farm Employment Change at 1:15 PM, GDP at 1:30 PM, Oil Inventories at 3:30 PM, and Interest Rates at 7:15 PM
  • Thursday : Price Index, Personal Spending, Personal Income, ECI, and Initial Claims at 1:30 PM, and PMI at 2:45 PM
  • Friday : Non Farm Employment Change, Unemployment Rate, and Average Hourly Earnings at 1:30 PM, ISM Manufacturing, Consumer Sentiment, and Construction Spending at 3:00 PM, and Domestic Vehicle Sales at ??:?? ?? (Unknown Time)

Europe

  • Monday : EU Money Supply at 9:00 AM
  • Tuesday : Switzerland Trade Balance at 7:15 AM, EU Current Account, and Switzerland Consumption Indicator at 9:00 AM, and UK Distributive Trades at 11:00 AM
  • Wednesday : UK Mortgage Approvals, and Lending to Individuals at 9:30 AM, Switzerland Leading Index at 10:30 AM, and Switzerland Central Bank News Conference at ??:?? ?? (Unknown Time)

  • This week's Asian news releases that should cause high volatility are shown in bold type (the only high volatility news is the New Zealand Trade Balance on Wednesday).
