Socrates, Tzatziki, and Options Trading

Monday June 22, 2009

Experienced options or warrants traders will probably already know what I am referring to, but new options or warrants traders may be wondering if I am going on holiday to Greece. Well, as much as sitting at a Mediterranean café drinking a Greek iced coffee and doing some options trading sounds like a good idea, it is unfortunately not what this blog entry is about.

So, why is Greece related to options trading? It's because of the options greeks (which are often just known as the greeks). The options greeks are a series of values that provide a variety of information about the relationship between options and their underlying markets, and they are represented by various greek letters (e.g. delta or Δ).

The options greeks are very useful for options traders, and traders who use options or warrants to trade their underlying markets, so I am starting a series of articles about the options greeks. The first article is an introduction to the options greeks, that describes the type of information that the greeks provide, and gives an example of how the greeks are used in options trading.
