Introduction
High Probability ETF Trading is the most recent book from Larry Connors. As the title suggests, the book is a collection of trading systems that are designed for trading ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds). High Probability ETF Trading is a statistical trading book, and provides several statistical trading strategies that have been specifically designed for ETF trading. As a statistical trading book, statistics and probabilities are an underlying theme of the book, and statistics are used as a basis for almost all of the trading information that is presented.
High Probability ETF Trading provides statistical trading results for seven trading strategies on approximately twenty ETFs (such as the SPY), but often points out that the trading strategies can be applied to almost any ETF. The book also mentions that the trading strategies can be applied to other markets (e.g. individual stocks), but it is made clear that ETFs are the preferred markets.
High Probability ETF Trading was written by Larry Connors, and is published by Trading Markets. The book is one of several books that Larry has written on the subject of statistical trading.
About The Author
Larry (Laurence) Connors is a professional trader and an author of several trading books. Larry is a statistical trader and a system trader, which means that he creates his trading strategies using statistics and probabilities (as opposed to purely technical or fundamental analysis), and that he trades his trading strategies without any further decision making (as opposed to a discretionary trader). Further information about Larry Connors is available at the Trading Markets' High Probability ETF Trading web site.
Part One - Introduction
The first section of High Probability ETF Trading provides a one chapter introduction to ETFs, and to Larry's statistical trading style, and explains several trading rules that apply to all of the ETF trading strategies (e.g. only entering long trades when certain criteria are met).
Part Two - Trading Strategies
The second section of High Probability ETF Trading includes seven chapters and provides seven trading strategies that are designed for swing trading on a variety of ETF markets.
Each trading strategy is explained in detail, along with a table of its trading results on several ETFs, and a few graphical charts showing example trades using the trading strategy. All of the trading strategies are based purely upon statistics and probabilities, even though some of the trading strategies use a technical indicator (most often the RSI).
Note that I have not actually tested any of the trading strategies myself, so I cannot say whether they are profitable or not. If you decide to trade any of the trading strategies that are included in the book, I recommend that you perform your own testing before you make any live trades (as I would recommend with any trading strategy).
